Get ready to fall in love with Spring Acre's resident diva, Petunia the Pig! This girl is the queen of our hearts here at Spring Acres, and she's sure to steal yours too. Petunia's favorite "occupation" is receiving a good belly rub—she'll flop right over for one. She’s an expert at finding a yummy snack and will happily follow up her glorious mud bath with a few muddy nose kisses (goodbye clean clothes). Her best friend is the family dog, Oaken, and together they are a constant source of joy and laughter. Petunia is more than just a pig; she's a reminder of the simple, joyful connections we can make with animals. We can't wait for you to meet her! #PetuniaThePig #FarmAnimals #BellyRubs #TherapeuticAnimals #OccupationalTherapy #PigsofInstagram #CommunOTFarm #ChuluotaFL #SpringAcres

Ready to watch your child grow in confidence and independence? Our CommunOT Growth Program helps kids master crucial life skills through engaging community outings. Imagine your child confidently ordering a meal at a restaurant—from a kiosk or a server—or navigating a grocery store with a recipe card to shop for a meal. We'll even take a SunRail trip where they'll learn how to purchase their own ticket and shop for a holiday gift. These experiences are designed to build executive functioning, social confidence, and problem-solving skills in a fun, natural environment. The first step is a free consultation with our Occupational Therapist to ensure our program aligns with your child's goals. Click the link in bio to schedule your consult! #OccupationalTherapy #OTforKids #CommunOTFarm #LifeSkills #ExecutiveFunctioning #ChildDevelopment #ParentingSupport #ConfidenceBuilding #KidsPrograms #CommunityLearning

Wishing you a Happy Labor Day! Today, we’re celebrating the dignity of work by highlighting the therapeutic power of barn labor. Our friend here is working hard rearranging tires, which isn’t just a chore—it’s a purposeful activity for goat enrichment! This type of heavy work builds crucial gross motor skills and strength while requiring planning and problem-solving, which are key to executive functioning. This meaningful work also fosters a sense of responsibility and connection, making it a perfect example of occupational therapy in action. #LaborDay #OccupationalTherapy #OTforKids #BarnChores #FarmLife #TherapyInAction #GoatEnrichment #GrossMotorSkills #ExecutiveFunctioning #HeavyWork #SensoryIntegration #CommunOTFarm #SpringAcres #ChuluotaFL

Did you know the honey bee is a master of sensory integration? From navigating by the sun's position (visual input) to using a "waggle dance" to communicate direction (proprioceptive and vestibular input), bees constantly process and respond to sensory information in their environment. This is a wonderful way to teach children about their own senses! We can use bee-themed activities to explore: Proprioception: Pushing a "hive" (heavy box) to feel muscle input. Tactile Sense: Creating honeycomb patterns with kinetic sand or playdough. Visual Tracking: Following a "bee's flight path" with our eyes. Let's celebrate these tiny BEEings and the big lessons they teach us about our bodies and our world! 🐝 #InternationalHoneyBeeDay #OccupationalTherapy #SensoryIntegration #SensoryPlay #OTforKids #LearnWithNature #CommunOTfarm
